What is Fluoride varnish?

Fluoride varnish is a gel that sets quickly when it is applied. The gel wears off after a few days, after your teeth have absorbed the fluoride within the gel. Fluoride varnish has a pleasant taste, smell and will only take a minute or two to apply.

Application of Fluoride varnish is quick and simple, it will not hurt.

The Fluoride varnish is applied using a small brush.

Is Fluoride a varnish going to protect my child’s tooth?

Fluoride varnish is a good way to help prevent dental caries, your child will still have to play a big part in the prevention of caries.

Brushing morning and night for at least two minutes at a time, along with a reduced sugar intake will benefit your child’s oral health.

You will find fluoride in many products and your water systems.

Fluoride can be good for your child’s teeth, but children who consume too much fluoride can develop white spots on their teeth.
