Do I need a check-up?

Comprehensive & Professional Dental Examinations from Bond Street private Dentists – Your Four-Step Guide to Checkups.

Why?

Spotting dental and other oral issues in the early stages dramatically improves success and recovery rates. Our team of skilled dentists, dental therapists, hygienists and specialists can, working seamlessly together, offer advice on how your brushing and other oral cleansing techniques are working and where improvement could be made. Examinations at all our our surgeries include checks for oral cancer.

  • Ensure your teeth and gums are in good shape.
  • Allow the dentist to remove any plaque which contributes to cavities and gum disease.
  • Enable the dentist to spot serious health problems early when they can be treated successfully.
  • Enable you to learn how to brush and floss your teeth properly.
  • Build your confidence if you're nervous, as you'll get to know your dentist and know what to expect at each visit.

How?

The dental team will ensure you are comfortable and confident before asking you to hold open your mouth for a visual and manual inspection, checking that the teeth and gums are healthy and noting any issues - each procedure will be explained as it happens. Your dentist may advise to have a scale and polish. If problems are noted, the dentist will explain these clearly to you and outline your treatment options.

When?

Current official guidelines recommend that under-18s have a dental checkup every 3-12 months and that over-18s visit between every 3-24 months. As you can see, these guidelines allow for quite a difference in time spans and this is due to the unique nature of each person’s teeth. Ewood Dental generally recommend a personal time for each patient based on the current condition of their teeth.
