Dental bridges are essentially false teeth, which are anchored onto neighbouring teeth in order to replace one or more missing teeth.

There are two main types of dental bridges. The traditional method of having a bridge is where a false tooth is fused onto to crowns either side, which are then placed over your existing teeth either side of a gap. This method can be used anywhere in the mouth.
Another type of bridge is the Maryland Bridge, where a false tooth is fused straight on to the existing teeth either side of a gap. These types of bridges are usually only used on the front section of the mouth due to the pressure of the bite being reduced in this area.
